The Theme-Based Research Scheme Public Symposium 2024
INTRODUCTION
The Theme-Based Research Scheme Public Symposium 2024 is organized by The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology on behalf of the RGC, with support from The Chinese University of Hong Kong, The Hong Kong Polytechnic University and The University of Hong Kong.
The Symposium will cover a wide range of cutting-edge and impactful topics to provide a valuable platform for fostering synergistic interactions among academic, research, governmental, and industrial stakeholders, as well as the general public.
ABOUT THE SYMPOSIUM
The Theme-Based Research Scheme (TRS) is a collaborative research funding scheme supported by the HKSAR Government and administrated by the Research Grants Council (RGC). This scheme is designed to concentrate the research endeavors of the University Grants Committee-funded universities on themes of strategic significance to the long-term development of Hong Kong.
During the Symposium, representatives from ten TRS project teams funded in the Eighth and Ninth Rounds will present their research findings across the following four TRS themes:
Theme 1: Understanding Diseases and Disease Prevention
Theme 2: Developing a Sustainable Environment
Theme 3: Enhancing Hong Kong’s Strategic Position as a Regional and International Business Centre
Theme 4: Advancing Emerging Research and Innovations Important to Hong Kong
