Collaboration and Design in Forest Ecosystems in Ecuador

 

APRU invites graduate students to apply for the Forest Ecosystems Living Lab Initiative (FELLI) Research-Intensive Field Course 2026, organized by the University of British Columbia and Universidad San Francisco de Quito.  

 

This immersive program combines field visits in Ecuador’s Amazon, cloud forests, and highland páramo ecosystems with collaborative research and policy engagement. Participants will gain practical skills in ecological monitoring, community-based research, and foster comparative FELLI ecosystems.

Dates:      July 25 – August 16, 2026 (online sessions July 20–23)  

Location:  Ecuador  

Quota:     15 participants  

Fee:         USD 5,000 (includes accommodation, meals, domestic transport, lectures, and site visits)  

 

Application Deadlines:

  • April 10, 2026 – For applicants requiring a visa*  
  • May 3, 2026 – For applicants not requiring a visa
