More Information

The HKUST AI Film Festival leverages Hong Kong’s unique position as a cultural hub and the university’s distinctive strengths in AI-generated content research, technological expertise, and innovative spirit to transcend the boundaries between technology and art, Eastern and Western cultures, and tradition and avant-garde expression.

The second edition of the AI Film Festival, themed New Boundaries, New Life, hosted by Division of Arts and Machine Creativity, will be held at HKUST on May 16-17. It will not only showcase the latest artistic and technological works from academia and industry worldwide but also invite renowned scholars, industry experts, and leading enterprises from around the globe to exchange insights on cutting-edge developments.

The Festival is privileged to convene distinguished judges and guests including Paul Debevec (Netflix Studios), Tia Carrere, Tony Ngai (SMPTE), Li Ding (Adobe), Jean Peic Chou (Busan International Film Festival), Jiajian Min (MIT AI Film Hackathon), and leading scholars from esteemed institutions. Participation and support also come from Tencent, Kling, TapNow, Minimax and other frontier AI enterprises, with additional support from the Global AI Film Hack@MIT and the Beijing International Film Festival AIGC Section.

You are cordially invited to join us in this essential discussion and bear witness to the shaping of the future of cinematic landscape.
