This talk offers an editor's perspective from Nature Climate Change on publishing social science—especially economics and related fields—in Nature and the Nature portfolio. It will introduce the aims, scope, and distinctive editorial positioning of Nature and its sister journals. It will walk through the manuscript handling process and use examples to show how Nature journals evaluate the contribution of works.

Dr. Lingxiao YAN
Nature Climate Change, Springer Nature

Lingxiao Yan is the senior editor at Nature Climate Change. He joined the journal in March 2021. He handles research manuscripts in the area of policy and socio-economic dimensions of climate change. He holds a PhD in Marine Policy from University of Delaware and Master of Environmental Management from Duke University, USA. Before joining Nature Climate Change, he was an assistant professor at South China Agricultural University, specialized in environmental and energy economics. Lingxiao is based in the Shanghai office.
