Introduction 簡介
This concert will be presented by the Hong Kong String Orchestra (“HKSO”) and the Light of Hope Orchestra (“LOHO”), celebrating a rich tapestry of Eastern and Western musical traditions. It will offer LOHO students a unique opportunity to perform alongside professional musicians after three years of rigorous training. Embracing a spirit of inclusivity, the concert proudly highlights disabled artists performing together with talented musicians.
The first half of the concert will showcase the remarkable achievements of the dedicated students from the LOHO music training program. The second half will present an impressive performance by professional musicians from HKSO. Elite students from LOHO will join HKSO musicians to perform Dvořák's Serenade for Strings, creating a harmonious collaboration. The concert will conclude with a thrilling encore led by Yao Jue, SBS, BBS, JP, delivering an exhilarating finale.

showcasing Hong Kong’s music on the global stage. Known for its fusion of Eastern and Western influences, the HKSO has performed in 47 cities across 13 countries over the past decade, earning international acclaim.
Under Ms. Yao’s leadership, HKSO achieved milestones such as breaking the Guinness World Record for the "Largest String Instrument Ensemble" in 2018 and representing Hong Kong at prestigious events, including the 20th Anniversary of the Establishment of HKSAR.
Committed to fostering young talent, HKSO launched the "21st Century Music Education Project," reaching 280,000 viewers globally. During the pandemic, it innovated online concerts, attracting 140,000 viewers worldwide.
Ms. Yao Jue, SBS, BBS, JP, is known as one of China’s acclaimed female violinists, celebrated for her unparalleled artistry and impactful performances on the international stage. She received the Justices of the Peace award in 2013 and the Bronze and Silver Bauhinia Stars from the Hong Kong government in 2017 and 2023. A graduate of the Shanghai Conservatory, San Francisco Conservatory, and Juilliard. She was selected as a council member of the National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference from 2018 to the present. Ms Yao plays a 1713 Stradivarius Violin and has released 11 solo CDs and DVDs, including the popular Butterfly Lovers Violin Concerto.
Founded in 2019 and supported by The Jockey Club Charities Trust, the LOHO provides a platform for grassroots children to pursue their musical aspirations. Comprising around 60 members aged 10 to 16, all from the "Light of Hope" music training program, the orchestra debuted in 2021, celebrating Children's Day on the concert stage. That same year, it participated in the "Youth Exchange Concert" organized by the HKSO. In 2022, LOHO performed in RTHK's "Departure 2022" concert for the 25th HKSAR anniversary and has since performed annually at National Day and HKSAR anniversary events.
