HKUST x MTR Joint Lab Workshop
- Future of Railway - The Smart Way Forward
The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) has set up a joint research laboratory with the Mass Transit Railway Corporation (MTRC), as the HKUST-MTR Joint Lab, on low-carbon smart city development. In this 2nd year of the brainstorming workshop on possible areas of collaboration, four main topics will be covered: (a) service disruption, (b) passenger path generation within MTR stations, (c) inspection and maintenance challenges in MTR premises, and (d) methodology to quantify carbon footprint in railway project. We are inviting MTR senior staff to present the MTR project context and HKUST faculty with relevant expertise to discuss the latest advancements and collaborative opportunities. Through this workshop, we hope to be able to identify specific areas of collaboration, leading to the development of R&D project proposals to be supported by the HKUST-MTR Joint Lab.
