I will briefly introduce the BGG category of representations of a semisimple Lie algebra, in particular the following topics will be mentioned: block decomposition, BGG reciprocity, wall-crossing functors. Then I will introduce Soergel’s V-functor, which is crucial for his proof of the Kazhdan-Lusztig conjecture.
