CKSRI Seminar Series 2023 "Biologically Inspired Intelligence with Applications to Real-time Navigation and Cooperation of Various Robotic Systems"

2:00pm - 3:00pm
UC Meeting Room G01A, CKSRI, HKUST

Abstract: Research on biologically inspired intelligence has made significant progress in both understanding the biological systems and developing bionic engineering applications to sensing, information processing, control, and cooperation for various robotic systems. In this talk, I will start with a very brief introduction to some biologically inspired intelligent systems approaches, such as neurodynamics models and sensor-motor models. Then, several applications of intelligent systems to biological systems and bio-inspired systems will be briefly presented. After that, I will focus on our current research on novel bio-inspired intelligent approaches to real-time motion planning, tracking, and control of autonomous mobile, water surface, underwater, and aerial robotic systems; intelligent tomato-harvesting robotic systems; intelligent robotic e-nose systems for various odor monitoring and control; and intelligent cooperation and coordination of autonomous multi-robotic systems.
