IMechE Speak Out for Engineering (SOFE) Competition
The Speak Out for Engineering (SOFE) is an annual competition organized by the IMechE Young Member Section (YMS), for our young members aiming to test their ability to communicate effectively using verbal and visual skills to explain technical subjects to both technical and non-technical audiences. It is also designed to promote interest in the art of communication. Let’s WIN a chance to represent your university and Hong Kong to join the International Speak Out for Engineering.
Competitors are to give an oral presentation on a mechanical engineering related subject covering the following area(s):
- Climate Change
- Infection Control
- Future Skills
- Future Transport
As 90% of the total marks are given for presentation skills with only 10% for technical content.
The champion and the first runner-up will be awarded with cash prize of £300 and £200 respectively and will have chance to represent Hong Kong in the regional/international SOFE.
