Environmental and Conservation Fund (ECF) is inviting applications for the 2022 exercise of Environmental Research, Technology Demonstration and Conference (RTDC) Projects Funding Scheme.
The ECF aims to provide funding support for educational, research and other projects and activities in relation to environmental and conservation matters with an objectives to promote individual behavioural and lifestyle changes to achieve sustainable development, and develop or introduce innovative technologies and practices to improve environment and conserve resources.
The RTDC funding scheme covers three types of projects, namely, research projects, technology demonstration projects, and conference projects.
Priority Research Topics
- Climate Change – Mitigation, Adaptation and Resilience
- Biodiversity and Conservation
- Waste Management, Reduction and Recycling
- Air Quality
- Water Quality and Water Pollution
- Construction and Traffic Noise – Prevention and Mitigation
Applications for research projects outside the scope of priority research topics would still be considered on individual merits. Merits will be given to projects with outcomes that have the potential for general application in the local environmental fields in Hong Kong.

Online Briefing on 2022 Invitation for Applications
An online briefing will be conducted to introduce the priority research topics, the vetting procedures, submission methods, and other points to note during the application process. Details are as follows.
