[MentorHUB] Make Your University Life Different! Start-Up(噏) with HKUST Entrepreneurs
Have you ever thought to start your first startup/ business idea in your university life? Why some students step out of their comfort zone to take the opportunities and risks on realizing their ideas? In this sharing, three HKUST entrepreneurs who are current UG, fresh alumni and alumni with over 15+ years investment experience will be invited to share their startup journey and what they have learnt from building startup for their lifelong development. Their startups are not only meet the market needs, but more important is to make positive impact and contribution to the society on smart city, food waste and environment.
The sharing will be covered:
- How to kick start their startup journey in university life and equip themselves for growth of business
- The most challenging / successful turning point
- What difficulties would university students typically encounter when building a startup?
- What are those opportunities and resources supporting university students on entrepreneurship development?
- Why students should try to build startups/join startups when they are still studying at university?

Biography of Speakers:
Mr. Lee started his career in BNP Paribas Investment Partner as Investment Manager and managed over USD2 billion of assets. In 2018, Mr. Lee joined the Executive Office of New World Development Company Limited (NWD, 0017.HK) to advise on strategic planning of new business development and partnership through M&A strategy.
Mr. Lee left New World Group in 2020 and he is now responsible for New Energy Investment in the Strategic Development Office of Eco Environmental Investments Limited, which is a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Hong Kong and China Gas Company Limited (Towngas, 0003.HK).
