Local Film Screening on Deaf Culture

The Hong Kong International Deaf Film Festival enters its 10th year to enhance public’s understanding towards the Deaf community, culture and art. This year, the Film Festival is promoting “Deafhood”. We have selected two local deaf films for screening:

Lighting – self-directed by a local dancer, this is the first Hong Kong sign-dancing movie

WhatsApp & U – to explore whether WhatsApp made the world more connected or alone by a local Deaf director, Mr. Anthony Cheung.

Following the screening, members of the Deaf culture will share with the audience a more in-depth exposure to the Deaf community in Hong Kong.

Remarks: HLTH1010 Course students will attain 1 course hour in “Wellness and Personal Enrichment Events” of the “Activities” module upon completion of event and the feedback survey.
