The Future Advancement for Power Electronics and EV Applications
Over the recent years, the electric vehicle (EV) industry has made tremendous progress towards a more environmentally friendly automobile industry around the world. Wide bandgap power devices started to replace traditional Si transistors but still requires improvements to minimize losses, maintain reliability over time, and optimize the performance during different operating conditions. EV is my research interest for a greener planet. My topic will cover the onboard charger, electric motor enabled by SiC MOSFETs, DC/DC converter design, and thermal management.
Dr. Weijia Zhang received her B.A.Sc., in electrical engineering from the University of British Columbia in 2012. She received her M.A.Sc. and Ph.D degrees in electrical engineering from the University of Toronto, Toronto, ON, Canada, in 2015, and 2019 respectively. In 2021, she joined Analog Device Inc. COS, CO, as a senior design engineer in control group for power products. Her research interests include smart gate driver IC for GaN HEMT and SiC MOSFETs, dc–dc converters, driver ICs for WBG power FETs, and design of GaN monolithic ICs.
