Drama Workshops by Krissy LAM (HLTH1010 - 12 hours*)

Creativity, empathy and collaboration are as important as performing skills in the process of making theatre. For performing artists to achieve success in theatre, these abilities and skills should be taught and learned in a holistic manner. In this 6-session short course, participants will have the opportunity to work collaboratively to develop and apply creative and performing skills in carefully-designed devising theatre processes. Through individual as well as group exercises, participants will be introduced to basic techniques necessary for making and performing theatre. The class will work with excerpts of realistic plays as well as original materials developed from various stimuli and themes. The class will culminate with small group performances of original materials devised by the participants. The course is open to all students and staff members with different levels of performance experience.
