Know More About Loh Bak Go and Lion Dance
Loh Bak Go, the Chinese turnip cake, is a savory New Year pudding rooted in Chinese tradition and mainly made from white radish instead of turnip. Radish in Cantonese is “Choi Tau”, derived from the Taiwanese “Cai Tou,” which means good fortune. The treats symbolize good luck and prosperity for the coming year.
Lion Dance is a traditional dance in Chinese culture. The vibrant performance represents warding off evil spirits and bringing good luck and fortune. The dance is usually performed during the Chinese New Year and other traditional festivals or celebrations.
