About the Conference
The 2nd APRU Food Security and Agritech Conference 2026 is designed as an open and collaborative space for exploratory dialogue on the future of agritech and food systems. It brings together universities, policymakers, industry leaders, development organizations, and agricultural practitioners across the Asia–Pacific region.
📅 Date: October 5-7, 2026
📍 Venue: Simon Fraser University, Vancouver, Canada
The conference seeks to critically assess the extent to which agritech innovations can address structural food security challenges, including affordability, accessibility, sustainability, and the inclusion of smallholder farmers—particularly in vulnerable and resource-constrained regions.
Discussions will focus on key themes including:
- Innovative approaches to disease and pest control;
- Climate-resilient and climate-smart agricultural practices;
- AI-enabled resource efficiency through digital and data-driven tools; and
- Strategies to improve food availability and access.
Four Working Groups, aligned with the themes above, will be formed during the conference to foster research collaboration. Participants can select their preferred Group during registration.
