The Innovation Competition: Our Livable City, We Engineer
 

The Hong Kong Institution of Engineers (HKIE) is committed to promoting the advancement of engineering and to raise the standing and visibility of engineers across a broad audience in Hong Kong. Through a variety of activities, we have been fostering the public's understanding of the importance of the engineering profession, with notable focus on innovative technology and future development of a livable Smart City. In order to let the public experience the work of engineers, the HKIE will hold the “Hong Kong Engineers Week 2023 (HKEW 2023)” from 3 to 11 March 2023. As part of HKEW 2023, an Innovation Competition with the theme “Our Livable City, We Engineer” will be held between Oct 2022 and Feb 2023, with the Award Presentation planned to take place during the Opening Ceremony of HKEW 2023 in March. 
 
Taking the theme of “Our Livable City, We Engineer”, the Innovation Competition invites students to become engineers by transforming their vision of a future city. The top three teams will be invited to the ‘Hong Kong Engineers Week 2023 Opening Ceremony’ on 3 March 2023 at the Hong Kong Palace Museum to share their work with the officiating guests and engineers. All winning teams will also receive certificates and cash prize from the Principal Official of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government.
