HKUST-MTR Joint Lab Workshop: Low Carbon Smart City Development
The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) will be setting up a joint research laboratory with the Mass Transit Railway Corporation (MTRC), as the HKUST-MTR Joint Lab, on low-carbon smart city development. We are organising a workshop to brainstorm on possible areas of collaboration, covering four main topics: (a) metro ridership planning and prediction, (b) building energy analytics, (c) assessment tools for embodied carbon of construction works, and (d) drip pressure/water leakage detection. We are inviting MTR technical staff to present the MTR project context and HKUST faculty with relevant expertise to discuss the latest advancements and collaborative opportunities. Through this workshop, we hope to be able to identify specific areas of collaboration, leading to the development of R&D project proposals to be supported by the HKUST-MTR Joint Lab.
