GSCI Friday Seminar Series- A Systematic Journey to Digitization in Cities
Rapid urbanization has put a lot of strain on city resources. Cities need smart ways to effectively manage traffic congestion, public safety, sanitation, Water Quality, Sustainable energy etc. Digitization and IoT can help deal with the impact of these population explosions. This session provides insights from large scale rollout of such digital infrastructures, various use cases and the benefits of data driven city governance. The session also dwells upon the challenges in such rollouts, and potential areas of future work that need to be debated within the technology community to enhance the impact of such investments.
Amitava has been in the industry for 20+ years with cross-architecture skills and deep domain expertise in Govt/Enterprise. Has been part of the Systems engineering team in Cisco for more than 10 years and Led various transformational projects across various verticals & technologies. Over past three years he has been leading Solution Architecture team within the Digital Transformation Office at Cisco India & SAARC and led various projects in the areas of Smart cities, Manufacturing, Energy & Utilities.
Harpreet Singh has more than 24 years of experience in the government and industry in various roles ranging from policy formulation, network architectures and rollouts, service planning, cybersecurity. In his current role as a Business Solutions Architect at Cisco, he is responsible for creating blueprints for digital transformations and working with the government and industry bodies for creating secure and scalable digital infrastructure.
