This symposium will help researchers and research students navigate the rapidly changing scholarly publishing landscape. It aims to:

  • Increase awareness of open scholarship, policy directions, and the assessment reform that makes openness the norm rather than the exception.
  • See how AI is reshaping the research and publishing process, and what responsible AI use means for authors, reviewers, and editors.
  • Create a forum for early career researchers to discuss publishing opportunities, risks, and integrity and build community across disciplines.
  • Encourage and showcase student knowledge and practice in scholarly publishing via a poster session and competition.
