Abstract
Borylene, a boron analogue of carbene with the general structure R-B:, exhibits distinct reactivity patterns that set it apart from traditional carbenes. This difference arises from the presence of an additional vacant p-orbital and the lower electronegativity of boron. In this seminar, we will delve into the electronic properties and reactivity of various borylenes. Additionally, we will explore the utility of borylenes in the activation of dinitrogen (N₂) and their subsequent transformation into valuable chemicals, such as ammonium chloride.
