These are the headlines of key news in Hong Kong in recent months:- Inquiry ordered in Hong Kong after giant screen crashes down onto stage at Mirror concert, injuring 2 dancers; remaining shows cancelled

- Hong Kong’s iconic Jumbo Floating Restaurant sinks in South China Sea after encountering adverse conditions

- Former Chinese president Hu Jintao’s congress exit a break from the Communist Party script

Whether you have come across the high-profile Mirror accident or the shocking demise of the Jumbo Floating Restaurant and many other subjects in social media, online news portals or newspapers, have you ever thought about how news is produced? What are the stories behind news stories?

When you come across some video clips, photographs or information online or on social media platforms, do you regard them as 'seeing is believing'? How do you know it is a piece of fact or misinformation or disinformation? How can you distinguish facts from misinformation or disinformation?

Do you want to be a smart reader in the midst of a flood of information on the Internet? You are welcomed to join a talk by Ms. Denise Tsang, Hong Kong News Editor of the South China Morning Post, who will share her over 20 years' experience in news production.
