Workshop Details:
1. Bamboo Weaving Painting Workshop: Crafting Traditional Bamboo Fan [Full]
Date: September 9, 2025 (Tuesday)
Time: 6:30pm - 9:00pm
Venue: Room G02, G/F, Shaw Auditorium
Introduction: Bamboo weaving is one of the intangible cultural heritage of Hong Kong. In this workshop, Ms. Cindy Tai, founder of WELL WELL WELL (井井有條), will teach participants to create a bamboo fan using traditional weaving techniques.
2. Chinese Seal Carving: A Hands-On Seal Carving Experience [Full]
Date: September 10, 2025 (Wednesday)
Time: 6:30pm - 9:00pm
Venue: Room G02, G/F, Shaw Auditorium
Introduction: Chinese seal carving is a revered traditional craft with a history spanning over 3,000 years, serving as a symbol of identity and authority. In this workshop, Mr. William Ho, an experienced instructor who specializes in calligraphy and seal engraving, will share the history of seal carving, and introduce the intricate techniques involved in creating a unique seal.
REMARKS
- Recommended for ages 16 and above.
- Participants are required to submit a refundable deposit of HKD 200 for each workshop (cash only), which will be returned upon successful completion of workshop. If the participant cannot attend the workshop, the deposit will be forfeited and used to offset the workshop operation expense.
- Interested applicants are required to enroll online and complete the deposit payment by visiting Room 203, Shaw Auditorium during 09:30am - 12:45pm or 2:00pm - 5:00pm (Monday to Friday) before the deadline in order to secure their spots.
- Quota is limited. If the deposit is not received by the deadline, the reserved spot will be released. Any released spots will be allocated to waitlisted applicants on a first-come first-served basis, according to the time the deposit is paid.
- Please present your Student Card / Staff Card / Alumni e-card / Resident Card for identity verification when attending the workshop.
- The Shaw Auditorium Unit reserves the right in its sole discretion to make changes to the event program without prior notice.
