Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) and electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) aircrafts offer unparalleled capabilities in data collection, real-time monitoring, and analysis, enabling cities to address environmental challenges with greater efficiency and precision. In this EOAS-SEE-LASERi joint seminar, Mr. Hong Zhang from EHang will discuss the pivotal role of UAVs and eVTOLs in environmental monitoring applications, highlighting their potential to enhance urban sustainability.

Mr. Hong Zhang joined Guangzhou EHang Intelligent Technology Co. Ltd. in 2015 and is currently a Vice President of the company. He is responsible for advancing the development of technology platforms for drone applications in various industries, integrating application ecosystems, and promoting marketing models. During this period, Mr. Zhang participated in consulting work for the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology's "Interim Regulations on the Management of Unmanned Aerial Vehicle Flights (Draft for Comments)" and was involved in the testing and preparation of the Civil Aviation Administration of China's "Low-altitude Networked UAV Safety Flight Test Report." He was also an invited member of the Ministry of Transport's new think tank "Civil-Military Integration in Transportation." Mr. Zhang has over fifteen years of experience in data communication and industry application solutions. He holds 21 patents and has been responsible for collaborative projects in the field of industry applications and data communication services for several Fortune 500 companies.
