Speaker: 

Dr. Hon Weng Chong, M.D. 

Hon Weng Chong is the CEO and founder of Cortical Labs. He is a trained medical doctor having studied medicine at The University of Melbourne with a research fellowship undertaken at Johns Hopkins University. Following on from his medical studies, Dr Chong worked as a doctor while developing the idea that would go onto become his first venture medtech venture. Hon was the founder and CTO of CliniCloud that made cloud-connected medical devices that was backed by Tencent and Ping An Ventures. Dr Chong exited the business in 2018 and began working on the concept of fusing brain cells with computing devices to explore alternatives to silicon for Artificial Generalised Intelligence that lead to the founding of Cortical Labs in 2019.

Cortical Labs are creators of the DishBrain that fuses living brain cells onto computing devices to create machines with biological intelligence.
