Synopsis
The film follows an old woodcarver named Geppetto who creates a wooden marionette puppet named Pinocchio. Geppetto makes a wish upon a star for Pinocchio to become a real, living boy, granted by a magical Blue Fairy.
To help the newly brought-to-life puppet navigate the world, the Blue Fairy appoints a cricket named Jiminy Cricket to act as Pinocchio's official "conscience" and guide him to stay out of trouble. However, Jiminy faces a difficult task; Pinocchio is naive and easily led astray, spending most of the film falling into deep trouble with various grifters, performing in a puppet show, and getting lured away to the dangerous Pleasure Island. Ultimately, Pinocchio must prove himself brave, truthful, and unselfish to make his father's dream come true and become a real boy.
