Call for Expression Of Interest

 
Get yourself into teams of 2-4 and submit your Expression of Interest (EOI), and then kick off with our orientation session to be briefed on what to expect (Disclaimer: The EOI isn’t the final proposal; it’s the first step to express your interest in the competition. It serves as a way for students to indicate their intention to participate).

Orientation Session

 

An orientation session will be held on October 14th, 10:30-11:00 am (Zoom) for those who have expressed their interest and submitted their EOI. Simply register via the link above and understand more about this competition!

What to Expect?
 
After the orientation session, select one from various impactful challenge statements provided by SINO, and create a proposal focused on AI SOLUTIONS that enhance OPERATIONAL EFFICIENCY and CUSTOMER SATISFACTION for SINO properties, such as hotels, leasing or property management services of SINO.
 
Your proposal will be reviewed by a judging panel comprising SINO and HKUST Senior Management, where the top 4 student teams will be selected.
 
Then:

  • December: Shortlisted student teams will meet SINO staff for the “Workshop 1” at Sino Inno Lab for training and starting on the prototype phase 1. 
  • January: 
    • Deadline for initial prototype phase 1 ideas, where SINO staff will collaborate with the student team to co-create, offer feedback, and mentor them on their initial project ideas, culminating in a joint presentation.
    • Amend prototype ideas and create a video for pitching with SINO staff and Student Teams to submit video pitch to explain their design logic and receive feedback.
  • February: Prototype Phase 2 to commence and allow for student teams to refine their prototypes under Sino Staff mentoring.
  • March: “Workshop 2” at Sino Inno Lab for presentation skills training and rehearsal with SINO for dry-run pitches.
  • April: Final pitch and compete for the championship, to take place with an award ceremony. The Evaluation criteria will focus on 1: feasibility (30%), 2: cost-effectiveness (30%), 3: innovativeness (30%), and 4: presentation skills (10%).

Real World Mentorship: students can work with the staff under different departments, from the leading property developer, to receiving guidance from them.
 
Serious Prize Money: The total cash prize is over HKD 100K, the champion team can have HKD 50K.
 
See Your Idea Come to Life and Media exposure by Sino: Students can have a chance to understand the real-world challenges and have their solution implemented in the real world with budgets.
