In this webinar, we will be joined with Jeffery, partner at Catalyst Ventures and Simon, founder of Zectr, a Marketing Tech startup from Catalyst's portfolio in a fireside chat, where we will learn about an early-stage startup's entrepreneurial journey, see how VCs and their portfolio work together, how they striked a deal, what the investor saw, etc.
We will then have a live elevator pitching session with 3-5 HKUST startups, with comments and suggestions after by Jeff and Simon.
The session will be held primarily in English.

Mr. Jeffery Cheng, Partner of Catalyst Ventures and Founder of Ooosh Coworking
Jeffrey Cheng is the Founder of Ooosh Coworking, a co-working space that connects innovative minds, empowering startup founders with a collaborative community. On top of his background in Marketing and Advertising background at Leo Burnett, Jeffrey also has experience in Supply Chain and International Trade. Prior to starting Catalyst Ventures with Alex, he has been angel investing and has an investment portfolio consisting Technology Private Equities, Real Estates and Securities. Being a member of the HKGCC, Jeffrey is highly engaged with the business and startup community, often keen to share his knowledge. He has delivered seminars including ones at New World Development and HKUST, on digital transformation, digital marketing, and entrepreneurship.
Mr. Simon Lau, Founder of Zectr
Simon is an ex-strategy consultant at KPMG with years of experiencing in managing go-to-market digitization strategy projects for FMCG companies. Previously, he was the senior manager of strategy for a surgical robotics startup. Simon started his career in finance working for large international banks. He is an alumnus of the Rotman School of Management and Schulich School of Business in Toronto.

Jowell Shek is passionate about all things tech investing and startups. After completing her business degree at the Chinese University of Hong Kong, majoring in Hotel and Tourism, she worked at early-stage global VC Fresco Capital and various early-stage startups before joining Catalyst Ventures. She brings strong venture operational experience to the team and works on marketing and community management with Ooosh Coworking. With a strong passion for early-stage tech investing and ecosystem building, she is a mentor for Asia’s first student-run VC fund Rookie Fund, and has founded Hong Kong Angels’ Angle, a meetup for aspiring angel investors in Hong Kong.
