Artificial intelligence is rapidly transforming radiology, creating new opportunities while raising important questions about its role in clinical care. This seminar examines the evolving impact of AI on radiology from a frontline clinical perspective, including the fundamental question of whether AI will replace doctors or redefine how medicine is practised.

Drawing on experience across Hong Kong’s public and private healthcare sectors, the presentation will explore the capabilities and limitations of current AI applications, their integration into clinical workflows, and key considerations for their adoption within Hong Kong’s healthcare system. It will also consider the implications of AI for medical education and the future healthcare workforce.

As AI becomes increasingly embedded in clinical practice, physicians must learn to harness its potential while maintaining clinical judgement, professional accountability and patient-centred care. The seminar aims to stimulate discussion on how clinicians and AI can work together responsibly to improve healthcare outcomes and shape future medical practice.
