MDMF’s Development Studio (DS) provides the controller design and fabrication supporting services for teaching and learning activities. DS is housed with workstations being equipped with various types of controller boards, MCUs, cam, motors, sensors (environmental, motion, light, etc.). A fabrication area with mechanical workbench is used to facilitate system assembly and testing. This tour will let you get an inside look into this central facility and its platform for encouraging the learning of current controller technology and systems.

Expected learning outcomes:

The tour will:

  • Bring your ideas on the technology and resources that can be provided by DS.
  • Inspire you on possible uses of DS service for your development and fabrication activities.
     
[30 NOV] BASIC ARDUINO WORKSHOP

Date: 30 Nov 2022 (Wed)
Time: 14:30 - 17:00

Medium of Instruction: Cantonese

This workshop is intended for UG/PG students to build stuffs with Arduino. It is arranged to provide an efficient way to combine practical works with basic principles. It is aimed to offer the user experience with a general impression about Arduino development cycles and how that fit into one’s own product ideas.

Expected learning outcomes:

By the end of the workshop, participants should be able to:

  • Understand the functionality of Arduino and its variants. What it can do and what cannot.
  • Familiar with the Arduino Integrated Development Environment (Arduino IDE).
  • Develop C program codes for various sensors and actuators by Arduino IDE.
