Memorial Hall - Mr & Mrs Ho Ting Sik Visitor Information Center at Piazza

We are deeply saddened by the passing away of our founding president, Professor Chia-Wei Woo. Following the University’s announcement on March 4, the University would like to invite the University community to come together to commemorate this esteemed educator, exceptional academic, and visionary leader. Memorial Hall -  Mr. & Mrs. Ho Ting Sik Visitor Information Center (link to map) will be dedicated as a memorial hall to honor the extraordinary legacy of Professor Woo. Opening schedule as below:

* March 7 12:00p.m. to 9:30p.m.
* March 8 to March 19 from 8:00a.m. to 9:30p.m. daily

You are invited to visit the memorial hall to pay your respects in memory of Professor Woo and to reflect on his significant contributions to HKUST.

Due to the limited space in the memorial hall, we kindly ask that you refrain from sending wreaths during this period. Flowers will be available at the site for those who wish to pay tribute, along with a condolence book for signing. This book will be presented to Professor Woo’s family as a token of our collective respect and appreciation.

In addition, the University will hold a Memorial Service in the afternoon on Wednesday, March 19, to memorialize Professor Woo, whose profound contributions reached far beyond our campus and inspired countless individuals in Hong Kong and the academic community worldwide. Colleagues or units wishing to send flowers or wreaths may address them to the Shaw Auditorium (link to map), The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, Clear Water Bay, Kowloon, in the morning of March 19.
