International AI Cooperation and Governance Forum 2023

to
HKUST Shaw Auditorium & HKUST Jockey Club Institute for Advanced Study

Recent progress in generative artificial intelligence (GenAI) has ushered in a new era in AI research and development, with an increasing pace of applications. This recent paradigm shift in AI offers great potential for beneficial use. Under the theme of “Developing a Global Framework for AI Governance”, the Forum this year will gather 70+ academic researchers, industrial practitioners, and regulatory authorities around the world to address the importance in monitoring GenAI and enforcing appropriate regulations, as well as the necessity of a global framework that ensures AI systems are aligned with human intentions and values.

Since its inception in 2020, the International AI Cooperation and Governance Forum has gained full support from various UN agencies, with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) Regional Office for East Asia, United Nations Entity for Gender Equality and the Empowerment of Women (UN Women) as international supporting partners.

Join us and be part of the most influential platform for an East-West dialogue on AI ethics and governance at HKUST Campus this December!
