A Quest for Sustainability

12:00pm - 1:20pm
Room 2502 (lift25/26)

The concept of ‘sustainable development’ was the foundation of the United Nations Conference on Environment and Development held in Rio de Janeiro in 1992. This event was the beginning of an international movement for Governments around the world to commence devising and implementing action plans and strategies for moving towards a more sustainable pattern of development. Since then, the public and private sectors, communities and individuals, have all embarked on their own journeys in search of the connection between sustainable development of society and their own sustainability.

Drawing from over 25 years of experience in the environmental and sustainability fields, Dr Ng will share her perspectives on the quest for sustainability in the various contexts of the energy industry, the environmental profession and as an individual working in the sustainability arena.
