Information Session of Tung and Ngai Foundation Scholarship 2023/24

In the era of China's ascent to a global economic powerhouse, the Tung and Ngai Foundation Scholarship (T&N) aims to prepare Hong Kong's youth with the skills and perspectives necessary for leadership in this new world order. The Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA) stands as a testament to China’s commitment to innovation and reform. This scholarship is tailored to help the new generation maintain Hong Kong's pivotal socio-economic role.

 

The scholarship seeks to:

  • Cultivate young talents with a strong sense of social responsibility and national cultural confidence.
  • Equip them for lifelong commitment to the local Hong Kong community and China.
  • Promote independent learning, cross-cultural communication, and exceptional leadership.
  • Encourage a spirit of endeavour in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
  • Create a talent pipeline through professional expertise from various fields.

 

Eligibility

  • must be enrolled as a full-time first-year undergraduate student;
  • attained a CGA of at least 3.70 as of Spring term in Year 1;
  • must hold permanent residency with the right of abode in Hong Kong. Priority will be given to the candidate with financial needs in the event that both candidates are equally competent;
  • a high level of proficiency in Chinese (Cantonese and Putonghua) and English is required;
  • a commitment to reside in HK or mainland China for a minimum of two years after completing the scholarship is expected. Flexibility will be given to post-graduate overseas study and other legitimate reasons; and
  • must be willing to engage with the community by mentoring future scholars, sharing knowledge, and organising events.

 

Award Details

  • Full tuition coverage.
  • HK$40,000 living allowance.
  • Up to HK$80,000 subsidy for exchange programmes including one compulsory exchange on the mainland and an optional international exchange programme with flexibility on programme duration.
  • Endeavour Support Fund up to HK$100,000 for career or start-up projects in the Greater Bay Area or other parts of China.
  • Other Learning Opportunities (e.g. Orientation Programme, Salons and Conferences, Graduation Project & Scholar Forum and Scholars Community etc.)
