Information Session - The Hong Kong Academy of Engineering (HKAE) 2025-26 University Pitch Competition

Hong Kong Academy of Engineering (HKAE) will organize a regional competition, the HKAE Pitch Competition on Grand Challenge Engineering Topics for University Students. The competition will take place in April 2026 in Hong Kong.

This competition is open to non-final year undergraduate students from all majors, with a specific focus on engineering and computer science disciplines.  The theme of this year’s competition, “Human-AI Collaboration: Going over the boundaries between human creativity and machine intelligence - how can AI augment rather than replace human ingenuity in engineering and design?” promises an exciting platform for students to showcase their innovative solutions that contribute to societal well-being.

The competition is a pitch competition. While a fully-fledged start-up business is not needed, a rigorous entrepreneurial and design approach which shows that the teams have moved beyond initial ideas or technology concepts will be expected. The proposed innovation must be viable with a clear route to growth and sustained impact.
 

We are looking for a group of passionate students who are interested in entering the competition. To let you know more about the Competition, we are writing to invite you to attend the Information Session. More details of the upcoming competition will be revealed.
