GSCI Friday Seminar Series - Common Spatial Data Infrastructure for Smart City

1:00pm - 2:00pm
Rm 6581-82 / Zoom

The Smart City Blueprint promulgated in Dec 2017 acknowledges the importance of Common Spatial Data Infrastructure (CSDI) as a necessary infrastructure to facilitate the sharing of spatial data to support inter-department and government-to-business applications. The CSDI is a one-stop map-based digital platform where spatial data with agreed standards can be stored, shared and assimilated in a composite manner, and where government, academia and the public can explore, search, view and download such spatial data through a portal of CSDI accessible from the Internet.  Sr Shiu will introduce the road map for setting up the CSDI portal and launching the Geospatial Laboratory for the consolidation, exchange and sharing of geospatial information to tie in with the development of various smart city applications by the community so as to develop Hong Kong into a green, resilient, empowering, adaptable and transformative spatially-enabled smart city.
