Frontier Technologies Seminar Series #1 by HKUST-BDR Joint Research Institute

12:30pm - 5:00pm
Bright Dream Robotics at Shunde, Guangdong

HKUST-BDR Joint Research Institute (HBJRI) is going to organize the Frontier Technologies Seminar Series in the headquarter of Bright Dream Robotics (BDR) in Shunde, Guangdong on 23 December 2019 (Mon). 3 faculty and researchers from HKUST (Bio attached) will give seminars on latest topics in Construction, Robotics, AI and Big Data, followed by a discussion session between members of HKUST and researchers of BDR.

Faculty and researchers of HKUST are welcome to attend the seminar, and get the opportunity to talk to the BDR executives and engineers face-to-face, find out what they are looking for, and explore potential ways of collaboration on mutually-interested research projects. Topics that BDR is interested in are as follows:

  • Construction Robotics (typically, integration of control, actuation, and vision)

  • AI & Big data

  • Building Technologies & Intelligent Manufacturing

7 projects have already been selected in the first 2 rounds of call for proposal, and the next round will be announced in January 2020. If you would like to know more about the seminar or call for proposal, contact the institute at hbjri@ust.hk .

Topics of the Seminar

- "BIM: Enabling AI, IoT and Robotics for Smart Construction and Facility Management" by Prof. Jack CHENG

- "Data-Driven Computational Design, Acquiring and Understanding 3D visual data" by Prof. Sai Kit YEUNG

- "Crowdsourcing and data integration" by Dr. ZHANG Chen
