Prof. Tianyi Peng
Columbia University, Columbia Business School
Tianyi Peng is an assistant professor in the Decision, Risk, and Operations division at Columbia Business School. He is broadly interested in AI for decision-making, with a focus on enhancing real-world systems using techniques like reinforcement learning, experimentation/simulation methods, and generative AI models. He is on the founding team of Cimulate.AI, developing Customer-GPT for e-commerce. His notable industry collaborations include projects with Anheuser-Busch InBev, TikTok, and Liberty Mutual, earning him the Daniel H. Wagner Prize, APS Best Student Paper Prize, and RMP Jeff McGill Student Paper Award. He holds a Ph.D. from MIT and a Bachelor's in Computer Science from Yao Class at Tsinghua University.
