Coastal Cleanup Action
Supporting the below United Nations Sustainable Development Goals:
Kick off the summer by joining a Coastal Cleanup Action to celebrate World Environment Day! Green Power invites HKUST students to join them and their 'Green Impact Partner' in a cleanup action. Volunteers will remove rubbish along the coastal area of Sha Lan, Tai Po, which is adjacent to Ting Kok.
The area is home to natural pebble beaches and mangroves that provide habitats for over 200 species of coastal organisms, including the recently discovered Ting Kok tree-climbing crab. This meaningful service not only helps conserve nature but also protects an important breeding ground for marine life, making a positive impact on the environment.
