Cinematopia: The Film Discussion Group is an English-based activity for students who love films and would like the opportunity to practise their English and meet new friends.
A variety of thought-provoking English-language movies of different genres will be shown throughout the term and used as a basis for discussion. Participants will meet in a classroom to watch a film together. Useful film-related vocabulary and discussion questions will be given to facilitate discussion of the film in groups.
Cinematopia is an interesting and meaningful way for students of English to develop both their speaking and listening skills and to meet like-minded lovers of film.
This is a HMAW1905-recognized event in the “Personal Enrichment & Community Service” category under the "Self-directed Experience" of HMAW1905: Behavioral Foundations of University Education: Habits, Mindsets, and Wellness. To receive 1.5 hours, you must attend the session in full and miss no more than 10 mins.
