2022 NSFC Young Scientist Fund (YSF)

(2022年度国家自然科学基金青年科学基金项目)

NSFC Young Scientist Fund (YSF) offers support to young academics and encourage them to focus on self-chosen area for basic research. Starting from 2022, YSF is open for direct application from academics in Hong Kong and Macau institutions. Applicants should be full-time academic staff aged below 35 for male and below 40 for female. Funding limit is RMB 0.3 million for 3 years. 自2022年度起，港澳地区依托单位科学技术人员可以申请青年科学基金项目。青年科学基金项目支持青年科学技术人员在国家自然科学基金资助范围内自主选题，开展基础研究工作。申请人须正式受聘于港澳特区依托单位，申请当年男性须未满 35 周岁，女性须未满 40 周岁。资助强度为人民币30万元，资助期限为3年。详细项目资料及申报信息请见此处。

2022 NSFC Excellent Young Scientist (EYS) Scheme (Hong Kong and Macau)

(2022年度国家自然科学基金优秀青年科学基金项目（港澳）)

NSFC Excellent Young Scientist (EYS) Scheme offers support to young academics, who obtained good achievements in basic research, and encourage them to focus on self-chosen area for innovative research. Starting from 2019, EYS is open for direct application from academics in Hong Kong and Macau institutions. Applicants should be full-time academic staff aged below 38 for male and below 40 for female. Funding limit is RMB 2 million for 3 years. 国家自然科学基金委员会自2019年度开始面向港澳特区依托单位科学技术人员，开放国家自然科学基金优秀青年科学基金项目（港澳）申请。优秀青年科学基金项目（港澳）支持在基础研究方面已取得优秀成绩的青年学者自主选择研究方向开展创新研究。申请人须正式受聘于港澳特区依托单位，申请当年男性须未满 38 周岁、而女性则未满 40 周岁。资助强度为人民币200万元，资助期限为3年。详细项目资料及申报信息请见此处。

Applications can be completed in either simplified Chinese or English and submitted via the Internet-based Science Information System of NSFC (ISISN).  Interested researchers who do not have user accounts in the said system shall approach Research Office (RO) as soon as possible for creating accounts. For applications requiring ethics/safety approval, please contact the Secretary of the Ethics Review Committee/ Panel, Ms Cat Leung (Email: catleung@ust.hk; Tel: 852-23586166), to apply and get the related approval materials.

申请书可用简体中文或英文填写。申请人应登陆科学基金网络信息系统在线填写申请书。未有系统户口而有意申请的研究者请尽快联络研发事务办公室办理系统开户事宜。涉及科研伦理与科技安全的项目申请，请联系Ethics Review Committee/ Panel Secretary Ms Cat Leung (Email: catleung@ust.hk; Tel: 852-23586166) 申请及获取相应审批材料。
