Call for Proposals - Batch 10 R&D Projects - HKUST-Bright Dream Robotics Joint Research Institute (HBJRI)

HKUST-Bright Dream Robotics Joint Research Institute (HBJRI) cordially invites HKUST faculty to express interest in the themes and topics released by the Guangdong Bright Dream Robotics Co. Ltd. (BDR), and submit project proposals.

 

This batch of call for proposals has the following pre-defined research topics:

 

Pre-defined research topics:

1. 高精度激光测距技术

    High-precision laser ranging technology

2. 大范围精密光学跟踪技术

    Large-scale high-precision optical tracking technology 

3. 高精度激光跟踪测量系统总体设计、精密装调和误差修正技术

    High-precision laser tracking measurement design, assembly, fine-tuning and error correction technology

4. 特殊场景下移动机器人定位技术

    Mobile robot positioning technology under special scenarios

5. 无溶剂环氧地坪体系的定制化研究

    Research on customization of solvent-free epoxy floor system

6. 应用于智能建造的激光三维扫描仪产品化

    Commercialization of laser 3D scanners for intelligent construction

 

Remarks: English versions of the topics are for reference only. In case of discrepancies, the Simplified Chinese version shall prevail.

Available upon expression of interest

 

Project Duration

Typically around 1 year (including R&D and acceptance testing by the user; depending on project requirements)

 

Funding

Typically around HK$2 - 3 million per project (depending on the project nature and duration)

 

Application Procedure

- Faculty express their interest here. Details of the projects will then be released to those who show interest.

- HBJRI will facilitate communication between HKUST faculty and BDR R&D teams on the project’s research direction and technical specifications.

- Faculty can then submit a full proposal for panel selection and review after confirming the contents with the BDR R&D team.
