Business Model Canvas Workshop for HKUST Start-ups
Co-organized by Office of Knowledge Transfer, Entrepreneurship Center and HKUST R and D Corporation Ltd, a lunch and learn webinar will be offered to introduce a crucial tool when starting your own business, namely “Business Model Canvas”. The Business Model Canvas (BMC) is a strategic management tool to effectively define and communicate a business idea or concept. It is a one-page document that works through the fundamental elements of a business venture or product, structuring an idea in a coherent way. We will unpack the what, why and how of the BMC to set up your business blueprint.
Marina designs and leads learning experiences on innovation and entrepreneurship for corporates, universities, and high schools with a focus on integrating global challenges. Her work conceiving the MIT Innovation Academy program earned the 2021 International Innovation Awards by Enterprise Asia. Leveraging on best practices, she fosters the entrepreneurial mindset through the venture creation process and has trained science entrepreneurs at HKSTP to enable technology translation from lab to market. Her career background spans investment banking, telecoms, and social entrepreneurship. Marina is a CFA charterholder and has a bachelor’s degree in finance from McGill University and a master’s degree in education from Harvard University. She serves on the board of the Hong Kong Red Cross Special Rehabilitation Services Governing Committee and is a member of the Dean’s Leadership Council at the Harvard Graduate School of Education.
