to

Libelula, Earth Hacks e Nordic are working together to hold a hackathon on November 19th and 20th to create open source hardware for forest monitoring, supporting Libelula in its mission to stop the illegal logging of the Amazon Rainforest in Brazil.

There are events that involve people interested in solving problems and developing innovative solutions to specific issues in a short period of time. The participants will work together and with support from expert mentors to create designs for a central circuit board, as well as different aspects of sensing mechanisms, power constraint management for the device, secure housing design for the device, networking mechanisms, and further specifications to be provided by Libelula, from the lessons learned and challenges encountered with the prototype.
