Accelerating the Development of a Global Innovation and Technology Hub in the Greater Bay Area (GBA): The Roles of Research Universities in Hong Kong
Despite their stellar academic reputation and high research capacity, the contribution of Hong Kong’s public research universities to the development of innovation and technology is low. The entrepreneurship engagement and university-industry collaboration are weak compared to those of some of the innovative universities in the region and globally. In this seminar, three speakers will share their perspectives on the roles of public research universities in Hong Kong in accelerating the development of global innovation and technology hub in the Greater Bay Area (GBA). They will discuss how to take advantage of the existing strengths and resources of public research universities in Hong Kong and to convert them into catalysts for innovation, while paying attention to the various shortcomings and constraints that may undermine such efforts.
This event is jointly organized by HKUST Institute for Public Policy, Division of Public Policy and IEMS.
