Abstract:  

Hong Kong is changing rapidly after Covid, the universal economic downfalls escalated the closure of local shop

Famous old shops and cafes were demolished every few months. They are actually the treasure symbols of our city. The seminar will have an onsite photo tour in the gallery with historic, visual analysis & storytelling from the speaker.

Biography

Artworks of Birdy Chu have been shown in film festivals in many cities and selected as the finalists for the Hong Kong Contemporary Art Biennial Awards 2009, Hong Kong Art Prize 2013, and HK Human Rights Art Prize 2015 & 2020. He also won the Most Popular Mobile Film Award at the Mobile Film Festival 2016.

His “HK1997” photo book was published in Japan at 2022 and exhibited in many Art & Photo Book fairs round the world. Birdy has been capturing Hong Kong for many years, his photo exhibitions reflected social &geographical development of our city.
