HKUST The BASE CASE - Startup Case Competition 2021 Spring

Don’t have the time to start your own company but interested in experiencing entrepreneurship? Would you like to experience the challenges faced by a startup, and learn more from successful startup founders? The BASE CASE 2021 is here to help! This year, The BASE is organizing the first startup case competition so that you can experience the challenges faced by startups and showcase your creativity in the problem-solving.  

The CASES 

The theme of The BASE CASE this year is How do startups expand or grow in a competitive environment? We will be working with 2 early-stage startups founded by HKUST students and alumni, in which they will be providing real life case questions for us to deal with.  

Track A: SOCIF   

Identify, Analyze and Provide options for scalable and effective Go to Market strategies for  SOCIF’s smart mobility products & services (ETA, PCS, lidar-based solutions)  

Track B: Breer  

Go to Market Strategy for Breer with a focus on O2O sales funnel and in-depth customer analysis  for the Asian consumer.  

Rewards for winners 

• Champion: Fast track internship interview, 2-day job shadowing and cash prize of 1000
• 1st runner up: 2-day job shadowing and cash prize of 500
• 2nd runner up: Lunch with CEO

In order to support our student teams, participants will have unlimited access to the BASE’s facilitates (common areas and meeting rooms upon booking). Student teams are encouraged to organize meetings in the BASE during the period, while they can also mingle with other teams and meet more like-minded friends.
