[Department of Electronic and Computer Engineering] - Integrated Circuit Industry Talk - What You Can Do In The Integrated Circuit Industry?
PhD, The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology
Dr. Scottie MAN received the B.Eng., M.Phil., and Ph.D. degrees all in Electronic and Computer Engineering (ECE) from the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) in 2001, 2003, and 2008, respectively. He is the author of 12 journal and 25 conference papers. Dr. MAN currently holds 2 granted and 2 pending US patents. He has more than 10 years of analog and power management integrated circuit design experience and Co-founder of Neolith Integrated Circuits.
How many engineers are required to develop an Integrated Circuit (IC) product? How do these engineers collaborate to introduce an IC product into the market? How do the ECE courses relate to the IC industry? You are welcome to attend the talk if you are curious about the answers of above questions or having similar questions in your mind.
This talk will focus on how an IC product, no matter how simple or sophisticated it is, is developed by a team of engineers in the IC industry. The roles and the required skills of these engineers will be introduced.
