Dr. Bryan J. Traughber, MD, is the Innovation Chair of Radiation Oncology at Mayo Clinic, specializing in genitourinary malignancies and benign cardiac conditions such as coronary atherosclerosis and intractable arrhythmias. A physician-inventor, angel investor, and UCLA graduate, he actively bridges radiation oncology, engineering, and MedTech venture creation.

In this seminar, Dr. Traughber outlines the translation of bench side engineering into clinical practice, highlighting transformation driven by clinical trials—including ART-of-SABR, DAPPER, and PHASER. He demonstrates how clinician-engineer partnerships and strategic industry co-development in advanced imaging and AI workflows accelerate early-stage inventions into scalable MedTech ventures. Emphasizing institutional synergy, Dr. Traughber presents a strategic blueprint for founding an agile radiation oncology department that turns cutting-edge engineering and venture creation into paradigm-shifting clinical therapies.
