Abstract
The integration of 3D bioprinting with organoid technology is overcoming critical limitations of conventional organoid culture—including poor spatial control, insufficient vascularization, and limited scalability—by enabling precise cell positioning, reproducible fabrication, and perfusable vascular networks. This seminar presents frontier advances in 3D-printed organoids across five directions: vascularized organoids addressing the central necrosis bottleneck; tumor organoids demonstrating immediate precision medicine applications; bone and joint organoids for musculoskeletal repair; engineered organoid architectures integrating microfluidics; and tissue-specific bioink innovations. We further discuss core challenges and emerging trends toward clinical translation. The next 5–10 years promise first-in-human trials, patient-derived personalized models, and AI-optimized printing, positioning 3D-printed organoids to transform regenerative medicine and drug development.
